Screening: Purpose

We recommend that children be screened between their 3rd and 4th birthdays. Early Childhood Screening is an early look at a child's development to help identify specific needs that may interfere with learning, growth, and development. The screening is conducted by trained staff and covers the following areas:

• Fine and gross motor skills

• Speech and language   development

• Cognitive and social development

• Vision and hearing

• Height and weight

• Immunizations
