Min is one of our remarkable Robbinsdale students. When he was a sophomore at Robbinsdale Cooper High School, Min-Hyung Choi earned the highest possible ACT score - a top composite score of 36 - on his ACT test. Nationally, on average, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn the top score. Among test takers in the high school graduating class of 2014, only 1,407 of nearly 1.85 million students earned a composite score of 36.

“I was pretty surprised with the results,” Min said. “I was anticipating something in the lower 30s. (Thirty-six) is not a very common score to see, especially in a test that is so widely taken. My classmates were excited for me, which is nice.”

When it came to preparing for the ACT, Min said he took several practice tests in the months leading up to taking the real thing on Dec. 13, 2014. He also paid attention in his classes at Cooper, which he believes is another way to prepare.

“Min is a very focused and disciplined student. We are proud of him for this exceptional accomplishment,” said Cooper Principal Frank Herman. “I look forward to seeing all of the contributions he will continue to make to our community and our world.”

Min truly is remarkable. At Robbinsdale we have many remarkable students. Each with his or her own unique story. That is why we focus on each student’s individual potential each and every day, and encourage all our students to make their own mark - one remarkable moment at a time.

We are Robbinsdale. We are remarkable.
